From a middle school gym to a permanent home — God's hand has been on Venture from day one.
Venture Christian Church launched on January 20, 2019, in a local middle school. It wasn't a perfect setup — but it was a faithful one. God showed up from day one, and people began finding a church home they never expected.
The name "Venture" was chosen intentionally. A venture requires risk, faith, and the belief that what you're stepping into is worth it. For everyone who helped plant this church, it absolutely has been.
No straight lines. Just a faithful God and a community willing to follow Him.
On January 20, 2019, Venture Christian Church holds its first service in a local Katy middle school. The vision: a church where everyone belongs before they believe, and where the Gospel is the center of everything.
Like every church in the world, Venture faced the challenge of COVID-19 just one year after launching. The church adapted, moved services online, and the community held together. If anything, the storm proved that Venture was built on something solid.
As the church grew, Venture explored multiple meeting locations around the Katy area, always finding a way to gather, worship, and do life together regardless of the setting.
After a few years of portable church life, Venture purchased an athletic facility and renovated it, making it their new church home.
Venture's growth quickly outgrew its first facility, so the church purchased 10 acres on Morton Road and built a new home designed for the whole community. Today, that campus includes an auditorium, a dedicated kids' space, classrooms, a café, and plenty of room to gather and connect.
Venture continues to grow as a community of imperfect people pursuing a perfect God. Venture Kids, Small Groups, LionHeart Academy, and more — the mission is expanding and the best is still ahead.
God has ferociously pursued each of us. We exist to pursue Him back — together, authentically, and without pretense. You don't have to have it all together to belong here. Nobody does.
