Our faith is rooted in Scripture and centered on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
At Venture, every service — from beginning to end — is driven by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe it's the best news in the history of the world, and we never want to move past it or take it for granted.
We hold these beliefs not as a checklist but as a living foundation. They shape how we worship, how we love each other, and how we engage with our community in Katy and beyond.
We believe in the Bible – God's Holy Word as inspired Scripture (Mark 12:36; John 14:26; 2 Timothy 3:14-16; 2 Peter 1:20-21). We accept the Bible as the final authority for all matters of faith and practice (Isaiah 40:8; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12).
God is the only sovereign, wise, and good Creator of all things, who reigns as King over all creation for His own glory. (Romans 11:33-36)
Human beings were made in God's image to love and worship Him forever. But ever since Adam first rebelled against God, we have all been lost in sin, under God's judgment, and unable to save ourselves. (Romans 3:23)
Out of undeserved love and grace, God sent His only Son to save us from sin and reconcile us to Himself through Jesus' life, death, and resurrection. (John 3:16)
We believe in the Holy Spirit Who is a personal and active part of the triune God (John 16:5-15; Acts 1:7-8; Romans 8:26-27), and Who indwells every Christian (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; 2 Timothy 1:14).
We believe that we must respond to God by admitting our sin (Romans 3:23), believing and confessing the truth about Jesus (Romans 10:9-10), turning away from sin (Acts 3:19), trusting Jesus as Savior and Lord (Romans 10:11-13), and being baptized into Christ (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-4).
We believe the church of Jesus Christ consists of all Christians everywhere (Matthew 16:13-18; Acts 2:14-47). We believe in the church's mission: going out to make disciples of all people groups, baptizing them into the reality of our Trinitarian God, and teaching them to obey all of Jesus' commands (Matthew 28:18-20).
We affirm the early church's practice of celebrating the Lord's Supper weekly as a proclamation of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (Acts 2:42; 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:24-30).
We hold our beliefs firmly — but we hold people even more firmly. At Venture, it's okay to have questions. It's okay to be in process. You can belong before you fully believe, and we will walk with you wherever you are on your journey.
